Your Castle Need You!

Cadwgan Trust needs the backing of the local community if it is to reach its goal of raising £100,000 over the next two years.

The trust is awaiting the decision of the Heritage Lottery Fund on its £4.8m bid to rejuvenate Cardigan Castle – the news should be announced early next year.

But in the meantime Cadwgan has to raise £50,000 a year.

“It’s a big ask for such a small trust and we need 100% backing from the local community,” Cadwgan chair Jann Tucker told last week’s AGM.

“We have to raise as much financial support as we can.”

The trust has already started its fundraising activities – members will be selling Christmas decorations at the Green Street cottages on Victorian Night and there are also plans for a concert at Rhosygilwen next spring.
